Malabar, Vedok and Hysun sunflower cultivar were sown as recommended (4kg1fad) and thinned after 21 days (PI). That was compared to sowing at the rate of 12 kg seed/fad and thinned after 31 (P2), 41 (P3), 51 (P4) and 61 (P,) days from sowing during 2002 and 2003 summer seasons.
