Summary, etc. The present study was carried out to study the effect of ciprofloxacin (CYP-450 inhibitor) and rifampicin (CYP-450 inducer) on some endogenous steroidal hormones (estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and cortisol) and exogenously administered progesterone and testosterone hormones in mature male & female rats. Ninety mature male and female rats were divided into 9 equal groups (each of 5 males and 5 females). The first group was left without treatment and kept as normal control group. The second group was given ciprofloxacin in a dose of 1.8 mg/100 gm. B.wt. i.p daily for 5 days. The third group received rifampicin (2.25 mg/100 gm) i.p for 5 successive days, the 4th group received testosterone 2.5 mg/100 gm) given as a single s.c dose 24 hours before blood sampling and served as testosterone control group,
