Cultivar of sugar cane had a clear effect on sugar and cane yields (ton/fed) . Wheat intercropping on autumn plant sugarcane was completely different in their performance, quality and yields due to great variation in their gene structure. Therefore, two field experiments were conduct at Mallawi Agric. Res. Station, El. Minia Governorate-Egypt during 2010/2012 and 2011/2013 seasons. The present work aimed to study the effect of intercropping wheat patterns on productivity, quality and profitability of some promising sugar cane cultivars (autumn plant cane). A split plot design with four replicates was used. Main plots were devoted for the following five intercropping patterns :1-sugar cane+ one row of wheat (20%of sole wheat ) , 2-sugar cane + two rows of wheat ( 40% of sole wheat ), 3-sugar cane + three rows of wheat (60% of sole wheat ) , 4- sole or pure stand of wheat (100%of sole wheat) and 5- sole or pure stand of promising sugar cane cultivars (100%of sole sugar cane). The following promising Sugar cane cultivar had a significant effect on spike length, 100-seed weight , grain yield and straw yield of wheat as well millable cane yield and recoverable sugar yield and stalk diameter of the studied promising sugar cane varieties in the two growing seasons and combined. Variety of sugar cane intercropped with wheat had a significant effect on quality traits of sugar cane juice such as pol% , sugar recovery% , reducing sugars %, purity % , sucrose % and total soluble solids %(TSS%) in the two growing seasons and combined. The highest value of Land Equivalent Ratio (LER) are 1.30 was obtained by intercropping three rows of wheat on sugar cane for G.2001-79 variety ,while the lowest value was 1.21 scored from intercropping one row of wheat on sugar cane for G.99-103variety. The highest value (0.22)of total actual yield loss (AYL) was recorded from intercropping one row of wheat on sugar cane for G.2001-79 variety. While, the lowest value (- 0.50) was observed from intercropping three rows of wheat on sugar cane for G.99-103 variety .The lowest values of total income and net profit (2085.2 and 11951.2 LE/fed ) were recorded when sugar cane for G.2001-79 variety intercropped with one row of wheat , while ,the highest values(23908.4 and 14708.4 LE/fed ) were recorded for sugar cane (G.99-103 variety) intercropped with two rows of wheat. On light of the obtained results, it would be recommended that intercropping two rows of wheat on sugar cane for G.99-103 variety is appropriate for intercropping pattern under the Middle Egypt conditions. sugar cane cultivars,i.e. G.T. 54-9,G.99-103 and G.2001-79 were allocated in the sub-plots. The obtained results could be summarized as follows: intercropping patterns of wheat had a significant effect on plant height, no of grains/spike, grain yield and straw yield of wheat as well as stalk diameter and millable cane and recoverable sugar yields of the studied promising sugar cane varieties in the two growing seasons and combined.
