Sowing sunflower early on April 1st increased plant height, stem and head diameters, No. of seeds/head, 100-seed weight, seed yield, biological yield, crop index, harvest index, oil percentage and oil yield. Yield and its attributes were affected by boron foliar application where 0.2 % borax gave the highest values of head diameters, No. of seeds head, 100-seed weight, seed yield, biological yield, crop index ,harvest index, oil percentage and oil yield in 2001 and 2002 seasons. Plant height, stem diameter and straw yield were not affected by boron foliar application levels. Increasing nitrogen fertilization up to 80kg N/fad. gave the highest values of attributes and oil yield/fad. Where as the highest values of crop index and oil % were obtained by using 40kg N/fad. Harvest index reached to the maximum by using 60kg N/fad UR - http://nile.enal.sci.eg/EALE/2004/ZJAR/3104/4A/1257.pdf ER -
