Agric., Zagazig Univ., to study the effect of ascorbic acid (vit.C) and salicylic acid (SA) on growth, leaf pigments and nutrientuptake by garlic plants under sandy soil conditions Spraying garlic plants with vito C at 100 ppm or SA at 50 ppm recorded maximum values of plant height, while vito C at 100 or 200 ppm and SA at SO ppm recorded maximum values of Dumber of leaves/plant, diameter of both neck and bulb, total dry weight/plant and N, P and K uptake by leaves and bulb and N, P and K total uptake by plant. Foliar spray of garlic plants with ,vito C at 100 or 200 ppm or SA at 50 , 100 and 200 ppm increased concentration of chlorophyll a, b, total (a+b) as well as carotenoids in leaf tissues. Also, vito C at 100 or SA at SO ppm recorded maximum values of N, P and K uptake by roots UR - http://nile.enal.sci.eg/EALE/2004/ZJAR/3104/4A/1335.pdf ER -
