N2  - Okra powdery mildew is one of the most destructive foliar disease of malvaceae. Systemic acquired resistance in okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) is induced by benzo-(1, 2, 3)-thiadiazole- 7-carbothioic acid s-methyl ester (BTH). The response is manifested by an increase in the protective effect against the virulent pathogen Sphaerotheca fuliginea (Schlecht. ex Fr.) Poll., by increasing peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase, superoxide dismutase and phenylalanine ammonia lyase activities, and by increasing accumulation of total phenolics
