Spinosad is an insect biocontrol agent. Spinosad is derived from the metabolites of the naturally occurring bacteria, Saccharoployspora spinosa. The objective of this study is to evaluate the toxicity as well as the latent efficiency of spinosad against the 2nd,3rd,4th,5th and 6th larval instars of the American bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner). The biocide was assayed after 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. The highest efficacy of the biocide was noticed after 96 hours post treatment. The efficiency of the bioassay reflecting the larval susceptibility could be descendingly arranged as follow; the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth larval instars. The corresponding LC50 and LC90 values against the tested larvae after 96 hours were 10.29 & 112.54, 38.73 & 482.55, 64.02 & 1044.88, 81.05 & 1728.86 and 141.94 & 3642.72 ppm; respectively.
