Annual Conference of the Misr Society of Agricultural Engineering "Agricultural Engineering and Country Challenges"; Includes references N2 - The main aim of this research was field evaluated and developed of a sugarcane crop DE-trashing machine under conditions of the Egyptian agriculture. The machine was tested to de-trashing sugarcane crop (G.T54/9) was known C9)by using three sugarcane Ratoons (first, second and third Ratoon). The filed experiments Were conducted in Upper Egypt (Qena - Farshout - Alaraley) using an imported Chinese made machine (model 6Bz-5). The process and mechanical behavior of topping and dry leaves removal of harvested sugarcane. The DE-trashing machine was consisted of three major part: The topping device cleaning mechanism, feeding and discharge mechanism. Topping efficiency, cleaning efficiency, machine productivity, mechanical damage, power and energy requirements and total costs were studied using three Ratoons. The performance of the machine was evaluated at all possible feeding rates either by nearly the number ofsimultaneouslyfed stalks or by duplicating the number of labors that feed the machine. The feeding rates are (01, 02,03. Tl, T2, T3. Thl, Th2 and Th3). The results showed that the ma..Timum topping efficiency was 97% and achieved when were used one labor to feeding the machine with single stalk using third Ratoon while the minimum.efficiency was 89.1% atfeeding triple stalks simultaneously. The maximum cleaning efficiency was 92.3 % when feeding single stalk by one labor and the minimum cleaning efficiency was 57.14 % when feeding triple stalks by three labors. the maximum mechanical productivity achieved when feeding the machine withdouble stalks by two labors was (2.41 Mg/h), The minimum productivity occurred when feeding the machine with one labor with feeding single stalk (1.30 Mg/h).. The total costs the DE-trashing machine were 13.71 LE/h and 6.59 LE/ton by using one labor only UR - http://nile.enal.sci.eg/EALE/2012/MJAE//012/20/149.pdf ER -
