In: Beni-Suef Veterinary Medical Journal 2001.v. 11(2B)Summary: This work was done on twelve adult dogs of both sexes (9- 12 years old) selected from dogs department at police academy in Alexandria and from different localities in Alexandria province, where clinical and biochemical aspects of adrenal dependent hyperadrenocorticism, ADH (Cushing's disease) were studied. The study revealed the followings: Clinical signs of Cushing's syndrome were polyuria, polydipsia, polyphagia, panting, lethargy, abdominal distension, mild muscle weakness and behavioral abnormalities including decreased interaction with owner. Serum biochemical measurements revealed significant increase in the values of cortisol, glucose, .alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine transaminase (ALT),urea, creatinine, cholesterol, sodium and chloride; and significant decrease in the values of total protein and potassium were recorded in Cushing's dogs in comparison with apparently healthy ones.
