520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Based on tbe grand mean of mines and larval content of leafminer, Liriomyza congesta (Beck.) and yield overall 2005 nili and 2006 summer cultivations of snapbeans and cucnmber, snap-beans, Giza 6 cv. and cucumber, Madena cv. were tbe most tolerant cultivars for leafminer infestation. However, snap-beans, Pollesta ev. and cucumber, Beit-alpba cv. were susceptible cultivars. Giza 3 (snap-beans), EI-Zaem, EI-Nemis, Amira-II (cucumber) cultivars were moderately tolerant for leafminer infestation. Early cultivations (summer season) of snap-beans and cucumber were less infested by leafminer and this resulted in yield increase. Meanwhile, late cultivations (nili season) of both crops showed significant increase of leafminer infestation and yield reduction.
