Summary, etc. Local and systemic spread of red clover necrotic mosaic virus (RCNMV)-TpM34 isolate and RCNMV-H isolate were measured quantitatively using Enzyme-Linked immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and RNA dot-blot hybridization. RCNMV-TpM34 and RCNMV-H isolates differed in the amoount of cell-to-cell movement they are capable of within the inoculated leaves of cowpea plants. The amount of virus coat protein, however, is similar in the inoculated and systemic leaves of Nieotiana clevelandii. ELISA results were confirmed by RNA dot blot hybridization.
