Summary, etc. The efficiency of thirteen compounds, Gaucho (Imidacloprid) and sulfur under different treatments against the whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Genn.) infesting cotton plants during two successive seasons 1999 and 2000 was studied. Gaucho and sulfur were applied as seed treatment, root dip treatment and foliar spray. Another compounds belonging to insect growth regulators (IGR), mineral oils, plant extract, detergent and surfactants, Biological agents, Sticky agents and confidor. The results indicated that the initial reduction in the population density of the adult stage of B. tabaci for thirteen compounds, ranged from 59 to 95.5% and from 62.4 to 96.9% for glue and confider during 1999 and 2000 seasons, respectively. Other compounds gave reasonable effect against three stages of insect for the two respective seasons.
