The main results in this study can be abstracted as follow: - Using the new designed drum decreases the losses by 48% and 65% in wheat and rice crop, respectively. - The new design threshing drum increases the fieid capacity to 0.49 and 0.57halh for wheat and rice crops, respectively than using the old drum which makes the threshing unit jam at 3.2km/h machine forward speed. Also. the new designed drum increases the ejected straw lengths by 50% and 40% in wheat and rice crops, respectively than using the old drum. - Using the new designed threshing drum increases the energy consumed and power required in wheat crop, meanwhile decreases the energy consumed and the power required in rice crop. - Also using the new designed drum improves cleaning efficiency in both crops. - Using the new designed threshing drum emits low noise levels which ensure no harmful effects on the environment.
