The susceptibility ofsix varieties of Egyptian cotton plants (G 45, G 70, G 85, G 86, G 83 and G 89) to the infestation with pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella (Saund.) and spiny bollworm, Earias insulana (Boisd.) was studied during 2001 and 2002 seasons under field conditions. The results obtained clearly indicated that the varieties G 89 and G 45 were the most tolerant varieties to infestation by pink bollworm and spiny bollworm while G 85 and G 70 were highly susceptible varieties.
