Subject(s): Online resources: In: Agricultural Research Journal, Suez Canal University 2010 v.10(1)Summary: Three different concentrations (A,B&C) of some heavy metals (Ni, Zn, Mo, Cu, & Pb) were evaluated by contact using treated and sterile sand against 4th instar larvae of Agrotis ipsilon (Hufn) under laboratory conditions. Larval mortality, pupation percentage, pupal weight, percentage of emerged adults from formed pupae and malformation percentage of emerged adults were calculated. Results obtained that, larval mortality was ranged between 28% at high tested concentration of Ni and 4% at lowest tested concentration of Cu and Zn, also at control. Pupation percentage was 96% at treatment with concentrations A, B of Pb and Concentration C of Zn and Cu also at control. Treatment with Ni recorded 100% and 72% pupation at concentrations C and A, respectively. Pupal weight was ranged between 0.31 and 0.37gm at treatments while it was 0.41gm at control.
