Subject(s): Online resources: In: Journal of the Advances in Agricultural Researches 2010.v.15(1)Summary: Laboratory tests were conducted to study the latent effects of certain pesticides on the newly hatched larvae of pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypieila (Saunders). Two selected concentrations of the tested insecticides were used to achieve the target ( the LC₅₀ and the LC₂₅). The toxicity data showed that emamectin benzoate proved to be the most toxic candidate followed by spinosad, chlorpyrifos, profenofos and the least one was Bt (subsp kurstaki). On the other hand, the ranking influence toxicity of the latent effects of both selected concentrations indicated that emamectin benzoate causing highly measure of toxicity on the survival of pink bollworm as well as profenofos followed by Bt subsp. kurstaki. and spinosad, where the least effective one was chlorpyrifos.
