Laboratory experiments were carried out to estimate the zero of development for different stages of Pectinophora gossypiella (Saund.) and the required accumulated thermal units required for completing one generation. The zero of development for the different stages: egg incubation, larval, pupal and pre-oviposition periods were 12.6, 14.9, 11.9 and 14.9 respectively. The average thermal units required for completion of the successive stages represented by egg incubation, larval, pupal and pre-oviposition, periods were 59.6, 161.7, 198.5 and 23.9 DDs, respectively. Accordingly, heat units required for completion one generation were 443.7 DDs.
