In: Egyptian Journal of Agricultural Research 2004.v.82(1)SISummary: Additive series experiments were conducted under field conditions to detect the effect of duration of interference of different initial population densities(5,10,20and 30plants/m2) of purple nutsedges (Cyprus rotundus L.Jon the yield losses of drillseeded rice(Giza 178). Increasing weed population and/or the duration of weed interference increased reduction of rice grain yield. The most severe reduction of 31 and 27% resulted from weed density of 30 plants/m2 in the first and second season, respectively.
