Subject(s): Online resources: In: Zagazig Journal of Agricultural Research 2004.v.31(1)Summary: Local LASER transmitter was constructed and developed to use in local land levelling in small Egyptian farm. Field experiments were carried out in two different soil types to evaluate the performance of the local LASER transmitter and compare its performance with three other imported transmitter. Evaluation of the transmitters performance was done taking into consideration machine productivity, soil topography, and energy and cost requirements. The experimental results reveal the following: The local LASER transmitter can be used for LASER land levelling because of its high accuracy and its low cost requirements, forward speeds of approximately 3 and 5 km/h are recommended for operating LASER land levelling in sandy and clay soils respectively to increased leveller productivity and low power tractor + small land leveller can be used with the local LASER transmitter as complete system because of its high efficiency and low cost requirements especially in small Egyptian farm. Key Words: Sandy soil, LASER land leveling, Topography, Productivity and Cost requirements.
