Subject(s): Online resources: In: Egyptian Journal of Agricultural Research 2012.v.90(4),SISummary: The effect of time and height of topping on tobacco plant cv PLT103 a new released variety devoted for energetic oil was studied in Giza Experimental Station, Egypt. The treatments were the combinations of three topping heights and two times of topping. Thin topping was at 10 cm and 20 cm from the meristematic apics at the initiation of first flower or at full flowering. Severely topping was done at the initiation of first flower and leaVing three or six leaves at the base of stalk (20 cm and 45 cm from the base). The results indicated that seed yield was high when plants were thin topped at full flowering compared to those topped thin (10 and 20 cm) at flower Initiation and also those severely topped (20 and 45cm). Whereas, least seed yield was associated with the untapped plants.
