This study was carried out at a newly reclaimed land at South Tahreer Res. Stat. undes drip irrigation system during the two successive years 1999 and 2000 to investigate the effect of different rates of both nitrogen ( 17.5, 35 and 46 kg / fed.) and potassium ( 96, 144, 192 and 240 kg / fed in 1999 which were modefied to 48.96,44 and 192 kg / fed in 2000) and their interactions, on the tuber roots yield and its components of sweet potato plant. CV. Mabrouka was used in this study. Results can be summarized in the following: The highest weight per tuber root was obtained by applying 17.5 kg N+192 kg k₂o per feddan, as well as 35 kg N+ 92 kg k₂o per feddan, during the first and the second seasons, respectively. However, the highest final tuber root yield was always obtained by the combination of 17.5 kg N + 144 kg k / fed in the two seasons . The commination of 17.5 kg N + 240 kg k₂o showed the highest values of both length and diameter of tuber roots in the year of 1999, while in the year 2000, the longest tuber root was given by the application of 17.5 kg N +48 kg/ k₂o fed. and the biggest diameter was shown by applying 17.5kg N + 96 kg/ k₂o fed. Concerning shape Index of tuber roots, the highest value were shown by applying 46kg N+ 96 kg/ k₂o fed. and 17.5 kg N + 48 kg k/ k₂o fed. in the two successive years, respectively.
