The current study was carried out during 2001 season to select the suitable head-feeding combine for rice crop. Four types of head feeding combines (YANMAR CA-32, YANMAR CA-385EG, KUBOTA R1-40 and KUBOTA PR0-48) have the similar number of rows, transmission system, and grain handling system but have different drum rotating speed and engine power were subjected to technical and economical evaluations. These combines were operated in the optimum operating conditions. They were evaluated according to the technical parameters such as: actual performance rate, cutting efficiency, header losses, threshing efficiency, and cleaning efficiency according to (RNAM 1995) and according to the economical criteria such as: overall hour costs and combine renting costs. Overall criterion was developed depending upon the relative weight of each technical and economical evaluation criterion. Relative weight was arranged according to the importance of evaluation.
