In: Minufiya Journal of Agricultural Research 2003. v.28(1)Summary: Three crosses of bread wheat, i.e. Sakha 61 X Line2 ,Gemmeiza 7 X Sids 7 and Line1 X Line2 each with the six populations P1, P2, F1 ,F2, Bc1 and Bc2 were used in this investigation. Highly significant positive useful heterotic percentages were found for number of kernels / spike and 100-kernel weight in the first cross ; spike length and biological yield / plant in the second cross; spike length and number of kernels / spike in third cross. Inbreeding depression estimates were found to be significant and positive for maturity' date , number of .' kernels / spike and 100- kernel weight in the first cross; spike length and biological yield /plant in the second and third crosses and for plant height in the second cross.
