The weekly population trend of T. tabaci indicated that the pest appeared on the tested onion cultivars in moderately high numbers at the beginning of January few' days after transplanting. The pest showed another two peaks during mid March and first April. This finding is considered as a proof that onion thrips has had three generations throughout onion growing season in Assiut governorate. Appearance of the pest in moderately high numbers after transplanting could be referring to the appearance of the first low peak before transplanting onion. Tow new chemical insecticides (Bieo 50% EC and Radiant 12 % SC versus Dolf 2.5% EC) were tested. Three concentrations of (Radiant 12 % SC) were used as follows: 26, 35 and 44 ml/100 litter water.
