This investigation was carried out during 2010 and 2011 seasons in the Experimental Farm of Rice Research and Training Center, Sakha, Kafrelshiekh, Agriculture Research Center, Egypt to investigate the effect of four nitrogen fertilizer levels, 0, 23, 46 and 69 kg N/fed. combined with three rates of farmyard. manure (FYM), 0, 7.5 and 9 t/fed. on Sakha 105 rice cultivar yield and its components. The . treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications. . Fertilizer treatments containing mineral nitrogen fertilizer resulted in a significant increase in number of panicies/m2, panicle weight, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, straw yield and grain yield compared with control treatment in both seasons. No significant djfferences were found among combinations of mineral nitrogen and FYM in the percentage of filled grains and 1000 grains weight in both seasons. Rice plants received 7.5 and 9 tons FYM plus 69 kg N/fed. were among those having high number of panicles/m2 panicle weight, panicle length, number of grains per panicle and straw yield in both season and grain yield in the second seasons compared with those received FYM alone or without N fertilizer.
