Giza 2) against chocolate spot disease caused by Botrytis fabae, when applied to plants, 24 h before inoculation. These compounds increased the activity of peroxidase which is associated with the induction of induced resistance. Furthermore, they stimulated the accumulation of phenolic compounds which act as antifungal substances, in plant tissues. Harmal alkaloides and peppermint oil produced approximately similar effect Diathane M-45 was also increased peroxidase and stimulate accumulation of phenolic compounds. Least effect was found with thyme oil, luban gum and chenopodium oil.
