Ultrastructure studies on the egg of the lantana scale insect, Insignorfhezia insignis Browne (Ortheziidae) were done using the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The obtained results proved that, there are negative relationship between both measurements, number of eggs and the dense of the spiral filaments on the egg shell. This phenomenon could be considered as a taxonomic character for the differentiation of eggs related to Orthezia species. The obtained data revealed also that, the fecundity in terms of the number of eggs produced varied from 40-58 eggs for the insign scale insect on L. camara shrubs.
