Effect of the environmental factors on the stability performance of different potato cultivars in Egypt [electronic resource].

Nine potato cultivars were grown under six different environment conditions, consisted of the combinations among 3 locations x 2 seasons. The main objectives of this study were to determine the magnitude of genotype X environment interaction variation in potato cultivars economical characters and also to determine adaptability and stability of potato cultivars under different environments in Egypt. Most of the studied characters showed large dependence on environmental factors. The genotype x environment interaction was high in magnitude for the characters; plant height(cm), number of shoots and tubers per plant, average tuber weight(g), tuber yield (tons / fed.), tuber shape index and seed-sized tuber percentage(%).Result clearly indicated that the evaluated cultivars responded dfferently when grown under different environments
