Subject(s): Online resources: In: Journal of the Advances in Agricultural Researches 2013.v.18(3)Summary: The study was carried out to find out the status of ground water quality and its suitability. in regards to irrigation purpose, in some regions at Al Jabal Al Akhdar area of Libya. A total number of 70 water samples from wells have been collected for chemical analysis. Water quality data used in the study include total dissolved solids (TDS), Electric conductivity (EC), Total Hardness (TH), Soluble Sodium percentage (SSP), Residual Sodium Bicarbonate (RSBC), and Sodium Adsorption ratio (SAR). It is evident from the whole samples set, that the SAR value is excellent Hence our finding strongly suggests that all the abstracted groundwater samples from the study area were suitable for irrigation except the two wells of Alhamamah and NE of Alhaniah regions. In U.S. salinity diagram, 68 samples fall in good to moderate zone. But the rest of water samples (two samples) of the study area fall under high salinity zone.
