Agricultural land in Egypt is Facing serious destructive problems amongst is the desertification intrusion on the agricultural land which leads to the loss of thousands feddans of the highly productive agricultural land yearly. To meet such challenge the planner needs to have fairly accurate and up to date information to manage such problem. Osem city in EI-Giza Governorate was selected to follow up the urbanization trend and quantity, through the period from 1985 to 2000. The urbanization areas were calculated in 1935 from details maps (scale 1 :2500) published from Egyptian General SuNey Authority (EGSA), Also the increasing of encroachment were estimated 1985 from the Aria! photographs maps ( Ministry of Agricu~ure), while the urban area in 2000 was calculated from the field check.
