In the present stndy 305 (72.6%) isolates of C.perjringens type A were isolated from liver and intestine of 420 dead broiler cbickens with post mortem lesions of NE .In addition to 25 (31.25%) isolates of C.perjringens type A were isolated from liver and intestine of 80 dead broiler cbickens witb no gross lesions of necrotic enteritis (NE). Toxoid vaccine adjuvanted with 20% Alnminnm bydroxide gel was prepared from tbe most toxigenic C.perfringens type A strains. Vaccination of two groups of 2 weeks old cbicks witb 0.25ml and 0.5ml of tbe prepared toxoid revealed a high antitoxin titer against C.perjringens type A (0.5 IU/ml and 0.9 IU/ml respectively). Also vaccination of two gronps of cbickens 6-8 weeks of age witb 0.5ml and one ml of the prepared toxoid revealed a bigb titer (0.7 IU/ml and 2 IU/ml respectively) .Tbe inclnsion of antibacterial feed additives bas until now been tbe major strategy for controlling clostridium perjringens ( C. perjringens) associated necrotic enteritis (NE) in broilers. These antibacterial feed additives may have bad effect on tbe consumer as well as drug resistant tbey develop. So, Immnnopropbylaxis seems to be an interesting alternative for tbe control of necrotic enteritis in chickens.
