Subject(s): Online resources: In: Journal of Agricultural Research Tanta Univeristy 2005.v.31(1)Summary: Two sepamte .experiments were carried out during two successive seasons (2000/2001 and 2001/2002) to study the effect of N treatments and spraying with GA3 on growth, flowering, rhizome productivity and chemical composition ofZontedeschia aethiopica L. and Hedychium coronarium koenig plants. Using four levels of nitrogen (Nl=2, N2=3. NA and }4=5 g/plant of ammonium sulphate, respectively), phosphours (p=7. glplant of calcium superphosphate) and potassium (K=4 g1plant ofpotassium sulfate were used in the two experiments. The mixture offertilizers was added at four doses.. The·first three doses were added at one ID.<)nth interval beginning from 30 days after planting, while the fourth dose was applied after cutting ofthe flowering spikes then these plants are planted insandy clay loam ofpH 8.4. From the obtalned data it was fuund that the best treatments were 5 g ofammonium sulfate +7 g ofcalcium super phosphate + 4 g of potassium sulifate for Zantedeschia aethiopica. Also. it was found that the best treatment fur Hedycium coronarium was 4 g. of ammonium sulfate + 7 g. of calcium superphoshate + 4g. of potassium sulfate. which gave the best results fur the most studied parameters.
