A total number of 800 one-day-old Japanese quail chicks were used in this study. The chicks were divided into four equal groups: the first group was fed on a vitamin E and selenium free diet (-E), the second group was fed on a diet containing the NRC recommended allowances of vitamin E and selenium for quail (E), the third group was fed on a diet containing 5 folds of the recommended doses of vitamin E (+E) and finally a group was fed on a diet containing to folds of the recommended doses of vitamin E (++E). The results of this work revealed a significant increase in +E and ++E groups and a significant decrease in -E group for body weight gain compared to control group through the twelve weeks of the experimental period.
