Plant materials of this study consisted of three different genotypes of Jew's mallow (c. olitorus L.) collected from three different locations in Egypt (Fallahy from Delta, Siewy from Siwa Oasis, and Saedy from Upper Egypt). The main objectives of the present study were to stUdy the tolerance of each locality to salinity stress. Isozyme analysis of peroxidases showed modification of patterns for salt treatment compared with control. Siewy had a unique band, which could be used as genetic marker. Proline accumulation in Siewy plants was proven to be the highest compared to that of Saedy and Fallahy genotypes under salt stress conditions. Of the 163 reproducible amplicons generated by 5 RAPD and 5 ISSR primers, 49 different fragments were obtained for Fallahy, 55 for Saedy and 59 for Siewy.
