A total of forty-five meat, liver and kidney samples of emergency slaughtered cattle were collected from Tanta abattoir in Gharbia governorate for detection of oxytetracycline and amoxicillin residues using of four plate test (FPT) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) technique. The results indicated that 20% of liver samples contained oxytetracycline, while 33% of kidney samples contained the same antibiotic residue while meat samples were negative for presence of oxytetracycline after using FPT. The use of high performance HPLC revealed that 33.33% of kidney samples followed by liver samples 26.67% then meat samples 13.33%, respectively. The highest mean values of oxytetracycline residues was 1012 ± 56.83µg/kg in kidney samples, while the lowest mean value was 137.5 ± 21.74 ug/kg in meat samples of emergency slaughtered cattle.
