In: Egyptian Journal of Agricultural Research 2012.v.90(4),SISummary: The present investigation aimed to study karyotype characterization which indicate to the chromosome area, chromosome length, long and short arm chromosome, centromeric index and centromeric position of chromosome. In addition to mitotic activity and chromosomal aberrations using six diverse varieties of berseem. The data indicated that differences ranged from the highest score of area chromosome in the variety Serw 1 to the lowest estimate in the variety Sakha 4. The studied varieties exhibited variations ranged from the highest score of chromosome length in Serw3 population to lowest estimate in the variety Giza6. The tested entries exhibited high score of mitotic index in the verity serw1 and 5erw3 and the lowest estimate was recorded by Helaly variety.
