Subject(s): Online resources: In: Mansoura University Journal of Agricultural Sciences 2009.v.34(4)Part BSummary: Field trials were conducted during 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons at Motobis district, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate to evaluate the efficiency of some postemergence herbicides in controlling broadleaf and grassy weeds in wheat cv. Sakha 168 .The treatments included Brominal 24% EC, Framinal24% EC, Karll W 24% EC, Pardner22.5% EC, Proturon 50% SC, IPFlow 50% FL, Turlnex 50% SC. Swat 50% SC, Tarok 71.4% WG, Granstar 75% OF. Granon 75% DF, Korestar 75% DF, Ecopart 2% SC and handweeding. The herbicides were applied at 2 and 4-leaf stages of wheat and handweeding was carried out twice at 20 and 40 days after sowing. Results showed that ail weed control treatments significantly reduced weed fresh weights and increased grain yield of wheat. However, all tested herbicides gave higherweed conlrol than handweeding . Morevec, these herbicides provided better control at 2-leaf stage than at 4-leaf stage of wheat Resu!ts aiso indicated ttlat the herbicides formulations could affect the herbicidal efficiency. Gerjeraliy, Brominal, Fra'minal and Granstar achieved the best weed control treatments and gave maximum grain yield in the two tested seasons.
