Alexandria governorate is located in northern part of Egypt, having a total area of about 2300 km2 and divided into 7 districts, with total population of about 3.5 million inhabitants. The total acreage of the Governorate was doubled due to merging of Borg El-Arab district in the west. The south western part of the Alexandria is occupied by Lake Maruit.
