The response and improvement of root colonization, yield, growth and N-uptake of wheat grown in salt affected soil (with pH value in the alkaline side) were stUdied. In a field experiment conducted and carried out during the season of 2005/2006, the biofertilizer inoculation (Azotobacter chroococcum and/or Azospiri/lum brasilense) in combined with different rates of N-fertilizer (ammonium nitrate at 0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 Kg. N fed¹) were applied.
