Guinea fowl reared much earlier and kept as a game bird or a semi-domesticated one around the houses. Several experiments had done after domestication guinea fowl for characterizations and requirements. First reports about its breeding in European countries were published at the beginning of the 20th century. Guinea fowl do make good companion birds as they tend to be non aggressive to birds of a similar size and do not carry many of the diseases and germs that in chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese are susceptible. Its excellent meat quality, very good ability to adapt to different conditions, resistance, wild and seeking habit and low costs of keeping make guinea fowl as one of the best poultry species for natural production (Szalay, 2002).
