Over a one-year period, the gills of Clarias gariepinus and Cyprinus carpio were examined for the presence of monogemean parasites. Three monogeneans were found: quadriacanthus sp, macrogyrodactylus sp and dactylogyrus sp. The prevalence of monogeniasis was 56% and 57.5 % in Clarias gariepinus and Cyprinus carpio respectively.
