Field experiments were carried out at the Farm of Agric., Fac., Kafr El-Sheikh, Tanta Univ. during 2001/2002 and 2002/2003 seasons to study the effect of 7 NPK fertilization treatments and GA3 at the levels of 0, 50 and 100 ppm on the vegetative growth, flowering and chemical composition of Calendula officinalis, L. plants. The obtained results can be summarized as follows:- The different NPK fertilization treatments enhanced growth and flowering characters and increased the total chlorophyll content in the leaves as well as N, P. and K percentages in the leaves in comparison with the control in both seasons. The treatment ofN3P2K (300 kg ammonium sulphate + 200 kg calcium super phosphate + 50 kg potassium SUlphate per fed.) led to the highest records ofthe most growth and flowering aspects, when compared to the other NPK fertilization treatments in both seasons.
