Direct tissue blot inununoblotting assay (TBIA) on nitrocellulose membrane was successfully used for the detection of barley yellow dwarf luteovirus (BYDV) in artificially virus-infected stems of barley plants. In this study, the virus antigens on the blots were detected by means of goat antirabbit (GAR) labeled with alkaline phosphatase (AP), as a clear difference between the virus-infected sample (a purplish-blue color) and non-infected control was appeared.
