Five dairy yards and five calf houses from different sites at Gharbia Governorate were under study at February of 2003. The samples were taken from wall if shelter of yard of dairy farms. In addition to, walls of fattening calves. The samples were taken before and after cleansing and disinfection. Five classes of disinfectants used in veterinary practice were evaluated for their effectiveness against some bacterial contaminations. The obtained results revealed that Staphylococcus aureus was the most prevalent bacteria in dairy yards. Proteus species were dominant in calf houses.
