Water samples that were taken from Ramtha Waste Water Treatment Plant (RWTP) and groundwater from the karistified aquifers at Yarmouk Basin in the northern part of Jordan were analysed. Groundwater samples were collected from upper and middle aquifers to observe the trend of water pollution. A large number of water samples were collected from RWTP influent and effluent as well as from groundwcrter wells during year 2000. Additional samples from two representative wells were analyzed to indicate long-term changes during period 1983 to 1999. Analyzed parameters were EC, pH, cations (Ca, Mg, Na, K), anions (Cl, HCO3, SO4, NO3, P04) and biological parameters (COD, BOD, total coliform and total count). Lab results indicated a decrease in the chemical parameters of influent water after treatment. Average electrical conductivity (EC) decreased from 3215 uS/cm in the influent water to 2537 uS/cm after treatment. It shows efficiency about 21 percent. The efficiencies of plant in removing NO3, PO4, COD and BOD are 36, 22, 68 and 74 percent, respectively.
