During the late summer and fall months of 2013 many cases suffering from clinical signs of lumpy skin disease were recorded in Assiut governorate-Egypt, from which 21 animals (3 vaccinated and 18 non-vaccinated) were used in this study to ascertain the clinical diagnosis by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Fifteen skin intradermal biopsies and 6 blood samples were subjected to the PCR technique using specific primer for viral attachment protein encoding gene of lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV).
