(20)Summary: The aim of this study compare effect of irrigation levels and nitrogen rates on soil moisture content, total fruit yield and water use efficiency of cantaloupe under drip irrigation system. A field experiment was carried out under open field conditions on a clayey soil at Shalaqan Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams, Univ. Qalyubia Governorate, Egypt, in the summer season of 2014. The experiment was consisted of three irrigation water levels (100%, 80% and 60% of ETC) and two fertilization rates (IOO%N and 50%N of the recommended rate). In this respect, a split design with three replicates was implemented The results showed that the moisture content increased near the emitter source and then decreased horizontally and vertically in all cases this may be due to the increase the irrigation periods and converge the distance between the emitters, The highest total yield was obtained by (100% Etc and 100% N) treatment, while, the lowest total yield was recorded with (60% Etc, and 50%N) treatment. But, (80% Etc and 100%N) and (80% Etc and 50%N) treatments Increased significantly total yield On the other hand, the highest IWUE value was 10.21 kg/m3 for (60% Etc and 100%N) treatment, while, the lowest IWUE value was 7.96 kg/ m3 for (100% Etc and 50% N) treatment.
