Subject(s): Online resources: In: Zagazig Journal of Agricultural Research 2004.v.31(3)Summary: Two field experiments were conducted at the extension field at Wadi EI-Mollak, Abo Hammad District, Sharkia Governorate, Egypt during 2002 and· 2003 seasons to study the effect of sowing dates (April 15, May 15 and June 15), potassium fertilizer levels (24, 48 and 72 kg K₂O/fad.) on yield and its attributes ofSome peanut cultivars (Ismilia, Gerogorey, NC₁₂ and NC₉). The results indicate that early sowing date significantly increased plant height, number of pods/plant, weight of pods/plant, dry weight of plant, number of seeds /plant, 100-seed weight, pod, seed and biological yields/fad. in the two seasons and combined which were superior at early sowing. . NC₁₂ cultivar produced the highest and the heaviest number of branches, pods and seeds/plant, weight of pods, dry weight and seeds /plant as well as, seed and biological yields /fad compared with other cultivars, which followed by NC₉ Ismilia and Gerogorey c.v. s. Increasing potassium fertilizer from 24 to 48 and 72 kg K₂O/fad tended to increase the yield and yield attributes of peanut. In general, 72 kg K₂O /fad. gave the highest values, followed by 48 while 24 kg K₂Offad. was the lowest in this respect. Interaction results between the studied factors indicate that NC₁₂cultivar gave the highest and the heaviest number and weight of pods/plant and pod yield/fad. with early sowing of April 15 when 72 K₂O/fad. was applied
